Foulard trousers in fluid silk
Céline • Spring-Summer 2011
-
One recurring motif former creative Phoebe Philo had consistently relied upon at Céline was an approach of reimagining silk foulards into various garments and accessories, including these trousers worn by Stella Tennant on Céline’s Spring/Summer 2011 campaign, shot by Juergen Teller alongside contemporary visual artist Urs Fischer's cuboid mirror sculptures.
A large rainbow stripe-printed foulard in fluid silk appears to be reworked into trousers; its stripes oriented along the outer legs and across the back yoke. The all-white front bears slanted side pockets and an exposed gold-zip fly beneath a concealed hook-and-bar closure on the waist.
