Tied dress in double-face cashmere
Céline • Fall-Winter 2013
-
Pastel and monochrome woolens and cashmere pieces dominated Céline’s Fall/Winter 2013 runway, culminating into a trio of garments that featured a distinct tied-sleeve design on the front. The tied-sleeve detail seems to be derived from a wool jersey coat by American designer Geoffrey Beene, famously photographed on a dress form with its sleeves knotted.
For this sleeveless dress, Céline simplifies the knotted-sleeve detail into a pair of flat ties. These ties come from a separate panel in the back, coming in under the armholes toward the front which gives the dress a bit of a waist once tied.
Made entirely in medium-grey soft double-face cashmere, the dress also features inseam side pockets, and a slightly flared midi-length skirt.
