V-neck dress in silk radzimir
Prada • Fall-Winter 1998
-
For the FW 1998 season, minimalist silhouettes are given a futuristic slant at Prada through the usage of industrial synthetics like plastic, silicone, and photographic film to add visual and textural interest. The use of these materials along with the space-age cuts of the garments call to mind the work of André Courreges, who used similar materials in his designs.
For this sleeveless dress made in light silk radzimir, the v-neck collar is applied with black silicone, serving as reinforcement drawing attention to the neckline. One of two in this length shown on the runway, this ankle-length piece is cut to be loose around the hips, tapering down slightly toward the darted hemline.
