Part of Céline’s surrealism-inspired FW 2014 offering was a kind of surreal version of a fishtail parka, crafted in translucent gauze-like silk fabric.
It features long black drawstrings encased in a channel made of thread, bonded onto the collar. This unique thread encasement allows the collar to be easily gathered and adjusted with the ties. Dropped shoulders fall into loose sleeves gathered at the elbow. The front closes by a concealed double-ended zipper, while toggled drawstrings on the waist and the fishtail hem serve to adjust the shape.
Unlike its military predecessors, Céline’s version of the fishtail parka omits a hood and pockets, instead streamlined into a slouchy yet sleek silhouette to function more like an elegant piece of daywear.
