Approaches of alteration and reworking make these denim trousers subtly more distinct from your conventional jeans.

Crafted in black denim, these five-pocket jeans are cut to a tapered silhouette, and finished with pressed creases on the front and back.

Raw-cut vertical slits allow the hems to be easily cuffed up, revealing a contrasting denim-like silk-viscose canvas fabric lining the bottom half of the jeans, as indicated by a seam on the knees. This lining gives heft and structure, and allows the hems to stay cuffed up as shown in Céline’s lookbook imagery.

The back pockets are taken into the side seams, as though the jeans were an originally larger pair that had been altered. This well-considered detail allows for further alterations on the waist and hip in a way that doesn’t compromise its design.
