Colorblock sweater in intarsia knit
Céline • Spring-Summer 2012

At Céline's Spring 2012 show, a trio of looks featuring colorblocked knit pieces in white and pop-red appears to have been inspired by an iconic female figure often referenced by Phoebe Philo at Céline: Lee Miller.
Constructed from mid-weight stretch-viscose knit fabric, this sweater's distinct v-shaped motif seems to be inspired by an image of Miller from the late ‘20s in which she wears a similar crew-neck. The image was captured by surrealist photographer Man Ray, who was also her mentor and lover.
