Relaxed jacket in linen-cotton and leather
Prada • Spring-Summer 1998
-
Opening Prada’s SS 1998 collection was a slew of minimal separates in white and ecru, which included this long single-breasted jacket.
Made in soft and breathable panama-weave linen-cotton, this unstructured jacket features a cropped notched collar, a broad welt chest pocket, and twin flap pockets. The front closure consists of a single mother-of-pearl button above hidden Velcro patches.
The jacket’s plain-looking exterior conceals bright yellow leather trim on the placket, cuffs, undercollar, and flap pockets, continuous with the similarly-colored rayon lining. Hints of yellow casually become visible as one uses the jacket, offering a kind of nonchalant punctuation to the piece.
